The Vincent J. Bommarito Award was established in 2003 by the Downtown Partnership as a “Special Merit” award, in recognition of organizations that stood out from the crowd in terms of their impact. It was named such because of Vince Bommarito’s life long commitment to downtown St. Louis and its beautification and improvement efforts.
The award, which may or may not be given each year, has included such recipients as the new Busch Stadium, the Old Post Office, RiverSplash, the Eads Bridge, Charlie Brennan and Washington Avenue Streetscape.
The U.S. Cellular Taste of St. Louis was extremely honored to receive this coveted award at the Downtown Partnership and Southwest Bank’s 2007 Better Downtown Awards, on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at the Top of the Met.
