2016 ARTWALK VENDOR INFO

The award-winning Budweiser Taste of St. Louis, now in its 12th year, will once again take place at Chesterfield's Central Park & Amphitheater on September 16, 17 and 18, 2016. Last year's ArtWalk was a great success, and we look forward to another fantastic year!

2016 DATES & TIMES
Friday, September 16, 2016 – 4pm to 10pm
Saturday, September 17, 2016 – 11am to 10pm
Sunday, September 18, 2016 – 11am to 7pm

Location: Chesterfield's Central Park & Amphitheater, Chesterfield, MO

The ArtWalk is truly a unique experience where event-goers can peruse a variety of work next to the open-air Chesterfield Amphitheater. As a juried event, the Budweiser Taste of St. Louis ArtWalk is proud to showcase some of the best local and regional artists and also includes live art demonstrations and hands-on activities throughout the venue. We highly recommend submitting your application and payment early, as space is limited and the ArtWalk fills up quickly.  

PARTICIPATION FEES

Application & Jury Fee – $25 non-refundable
Applications and payments will only be accepted online and must be paid at the time of application (See application form for payment link.)

Prices reflect space only in the ArtWalk. Vendors must provide tent, table, chairs, lighting and tent weights (tents will not be allowed to be set up without proper tent weights - see rules for details.) Clean white tents only. Booth payment is required within one week of receiving acceptance letter.   

OPTION 1: Professional Artist (ArtWalk booth)    

  • $150 per 10' x 10' or $300 per 10' x 20' space. Booths are given out on a first come first serve basis.
  • Participation fees include: 
    • 10’ x 10’ or 10' x 20' booth space (space only, artist must provide tent) in the ArtWalk for promotions, sales and lead generation
    • One 110 volt electrical outlet
    • Eligibility for cash prizes and awards (see below for details)
    • Name and hotlink on ArtWalk page of TasteSTL.com     

OPTION 2: Emerging Artist (shared ArtWalk booth)  
Up-and-coming artists can apply as an Emerging Artist for a lower-fee option and share a a booth space with another Emerging Artist (booth spaces will be assigned will be by the Event.) This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about exhibiting and selling your work at the Artwalk. Emerging Artists will be judged under the “Emerging Artists Category.”  Payment is required within one week of receiving acceptance letter.  

  • $75 per 10' x 5' booth space. Booth spaces are given out on a first come first serve basis.  
  • Participation Fees include: 
    • Shared space with one other artist in 10' x 10' (space only, artist must provide tent) in ArtWalk for promotions, sales and lead generation
    • One 110 volt electrical outlet
    • Name and hotlink on ArtWalk page of TasteSTL.com   

DEADLINES AND IMPORTANT DATES

  • June 6, 2016 – Deadline for artist application, application fee of $25 and jpg entries of artwork
  • September 5, 2016 – Vendor advance information will be emailed
  • September 16, 17 and 18, 2016 – Budweiser Taste of St. Louis         

PRIZES AND AWARDS

Prizes are awarded to ArtWalk participants based on originality, creativity, festival fit and overall presentation. Award winners will be selected on Friday, September 16th at the Event (details to follow). As part of the award, winner’s artwork may be purchased and displayed in prominent areas in the City of Chesterfield.          

  • First-Place Juried Award: Cash and/or prizes totaling $1,000
  • Second-Place Juried Award: Cash and/or prizes totaling $500
  • Third- Place Juried Award: Cash and/or prizes totaling $250

2016 ARTWALK VENDOR CONTRACT

To apply for participation in the Budweiser Taste of St. Louis event:

  1. Read and acknowledge your understanding of the following important information (read each section carefully!)
  2. Complete the online application form below (with $25 online payment) by June 6, 2016.
  3. Submit images (jpgs) of your entries via the application form below by June 6, 2016.

You will receive an email confirmation upon receipt of your online application, images and jury fee. Load-in information and any revised rules will be emailed to you by September 5, 2016. 

ELIGIBILITY AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR JURIED WORK

The Taste of St. Louis reserves the right to choose and confirm all Artists in the juried ArtWalk. Once you are confirmed as a participant and your participation fee has been deposited, no refunds will be issued, for any reason whatsoever. The $25 jury fee is non-refundable.

Professional Artist (ArtWalk Booth) – Checklist for Submission

  1. Three images (jpgs) of original and unique artwork completed between 2013 and 2016 and one image (jpg) of your booth set-up (from a previous art show/festival) for consideration of the jury. See additional information about images below.

Emerging Artist (Shared ArtWalk Booth) – Checklist for Submission

  1. Three images (jpgs) of original and unique artwork completed between 2013 and 2016. You do not need to add a photograph of a booth. See additional information about images below.

All images (jpgs) must be:

  • Submitted online at the time of application and jury fee
  • RGB color, 300 dpi and minimum 800 x 800 pixels
  • Titled accordingly: yourlastname.title1.jpg and yourlastname.booth.jpg (i.e. jones.turnedvessel1.jpg; jones.booth.jpg)
  • IMPORTANT: Poor image quality (i.e. sideways, fuzzy, or poorly lit) will affect scoring and/or your ability to participate. Submissions that do not comply with the rules of entry will not be presented to the jurors.

ARTWALK ONSITE RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Vendor Hours of Operation: Vendor MUST operate for the hours listed (at a minimum). If you fail to operate during the scheduled Event hours, you will not be allowed to return the following day and/or participate in future Taste of St. Louis Events.  

         Friday –  4pm to 10pm
         Saturday – 11am to 10pm
         Sunday – 11am to 7pm

     
  2. All items in the booth must be the original work or a reproduction of original artwork by the applying artist.
     
  3. Power and lighting: The Taste of St. Louis, Inc. will supply one, 110 volt outlet for use at your booth. Vendor must provide all lighting and any needed power strips or extension cords. All vendor-supplied equipment must be in proper working order and free of any safety hazards.
     
  4. Noise and Generators: Vendor is not allowed to operate music or public address systems on the Event site. This includes stereos, televisions, D.J. equipment, or megaphones. Generators are not allowed.
     
  5. Signage: All signs and banners must be contained inside and below the roofline of the Vendor’s tent and not overlap onto a neighbor’s space. All signage must be professional in appearance. The Taste of St. Louis, Inc. reserves the right to reject any inappropriate or unprofessional signage.
     
  6. Vehicle Access and Parking: Vendors will be allowed to utilize vehicles to move equipment and goods to their booth space up to three hours prior to the start of the Event, but must immediately remove their car after unloading. Vendors may not load out until the Event hours have come to an end and the Taste of St. Louis gives permission to do so. Details will be included in the Vendor Advance that you will receive before the Event.
     
  7. Trash and Clean-up: Vendors must maintain the cleanliness of their Event site throughout the weekend and throw all trash away in the receptacles provided by the Taste of St. Louis. Vendors must leave their area 100% free of all trash and display items at the end of the Event. 
     
  8. Prohibited Merchandise includes: 
    • Beverage sales or sampling of any kind.
    • Any food sampling or sales by Vendor.
    • Unauthorized (i.e. bootleg materials) national or private brand products of any kind, including clothing or other wearable apparel, leather goods, personal accessories, videos, DVD’s, CD’s, cassettes, or other musical or electronic items.
    • Merchandise of any kind containing the logos, phrases or words connected with the Taste of St. Louis.
    • Pornographic or publicly offensive merchandise, drug paraphernalia, weapons or any other items that conflict in keeping with standards of public policy and local ordinances.
  9. Sales Tax: Vendors are responsible for collecting, reporting and paying all applicable taxes.
     
  10. Publicity: The Taste of St. Louis reserves the right to photograph all Vendors, Vendor interactions and Vendor products for use in all forms of media and promotions.
     
  11. Security: All Vendors are responsible for the security of their booth area, goods and personal items. Although there will be 24-hour security provided for the Event area, we suggest all items of value are removed each night. The Taste of St. Louis, Inc. will not be liable for lost/ damaged or stolen items.
     
  12. Operations: Taste of St. Louis, Inc. reserves the right to restrict vendors with respect to operations and display of materials.
     
  13. Intoxicants: Vendors may not possess illegal drugs, alcohol or other intoxicants inside or anywhere near the Event footprint.
     
  14. Insurance: Vendors must maintain current and valid liability insurance, listing Taste of St. Louis Partnership, Inc. as additionally insured, for the duration of the event.
     
  15. Force Majeure: In the event of inclement weather, or for any reason whatsoever that the Taste of St. Louis is delayed, rained-out or unfeasible by any act or regulation of any public authority or bureau, civil tumult, strike, epidemic, war conditions, emergencies, act of God, or any other cause or causes beyond the control of the Taste of St. Louis, Inc., the Vendor agrees that there shall be no claim or action against of the Taste of St. Louis, Inc. Attendance is not guaranteed and no refund of Vendor participation fees will be given for any reason.
     
  16. Indemnification: The Vendor shall release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Taste of St. Louis, St. Louis County, City of Chesterfield, all sponsoring organizations and all trustees, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, suits, actions, damages, settlements and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of injuries to persons or damages to property directly and exclusively resulting from said Vendor's actions and participation in the Taste of St. Louis Event. The Taste of St. Louis, or any subsidiary thereof, will not be responsible for any kind of injury sustained by participants or guests while in agreement. By signing this release and request, I agree to follow all rules and policies as outlined in these documents and/or any addendum thereto.
