Our celebrity guest, Mark DeCarlo, will be hosting a cooking contest at the Taste of St. Louis for a $10,000 Trip Giveaway!

Mark DeCarlo, author of "A Fork on the Road: 400 Cities, 1 Stomach", based on the Travel Channel's "Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo", is currently touring North America, performing live Culinary Comedy Shows and book signings.

Mark will be at the Taste of St. Louis on Saturday, September 24th to host a culinary contest and giveaway an 8 day/7 Night ALL INCLUSIVE SPA VACATION, valued at $10,000!

Here's how it works:

Four contestants will be chosen to compete live at a cooking contest at the Taste of St. Louis:

One contestant will be chosen through our website entry contest (follow this link to enter).

The other 3 will be chosen by raffle during Mark's show, which will take place at at 5:30pm, September 24th on the Lumière Place and River City Casino Culinary Stage (see map for location). You can obtain a free raffle ticket at Mark DeCarlo's booth (near the culinary stage) at the event.

The three raffle winners - plus the winner from our website contest - will then compete in front of a live audience to see who can make the best Guacamole. (All ingredients and directions will be provided, Mark promises the show will be a lot of fun!)

The contestant with the winning Guacamole dish will receive an ALL INCLUSIVE CARIBBEAN VACATION, for 2 Adults & 2 children to the 5 STAR Hacienda Tres Rios Resort provided by Yucatan Holidays. Airfare is not included. Complete details below.

If you are not chosen to compete through our social media contest.. you can also stop by Mark DeCarlo's booth at the Taste of St. Louis event on Saturday, September 24th between 11am and 4:30pm and fill out a raffle ticket to qualify for a chance to be one of the other 3 contestants!

All 4 contestants must appear on the Lumière Place and River City Casino Culinary Stage by 5:00pm on Saturday, September 24th to compete in a 30 minute culinary contest. All ingredients and directions will be given to you at the time of the competition.

Official Rules

1. No Purchase Necessary.
The Contest is open to the members of the Facebook community. Employees, directors, and/or officers (including immediate family members or members of the household) of Taste of St. Louis Partnership, Inc. (interchangeably “Taste” and “Taste of St. Louis”), its subsidiaries, affiliated companies, distributors, advertising, fulfillment and promotion agencies and all other companies or entities associated with the Contest are not eligible to participate. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Participation constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Official Rules which shall be final in all respects. Entry constitutes certification that all eligibility requirements have been met. If you object or do not agree with any of these Official Rules, please do not enter the Contest. No one under the age of twenty one (21) will be allowed to enter under any circumstances.

2. How to Enter.

3. Selection of Winner.
Taste of St. Louis shall select winners at its sole discretion via Random.org. The winner will be notified via email. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Taste of St. Louis will be responsible for all applicable shipping and handling fees as well as applicable local taxes. Payments of federal, state taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9, 1099, or the equivalent. If these Official Rules differ from any promotional or other materials published in connection with the Contest, these Official Rules shall control.

4. Conditions.
Prizes are non-transferable except as otherwise outlined above. No cash redemption or substitution will be allowed, except at Taste of St. Louis’ sole discretion. If the prize is unavailable, Taste of St. Louis reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taste of St. Louis also reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest or these Official Rules if fraud, technical failures or any other fact beyond taste of St. Louis’ reasonable control impairs the integrity of this Contest, as determined by Taste of St. Louis, in its sole discretion. By participating, where allowable by law, the entrant grants to Taste of St. Louis the worldwide right to publish, broadcast and use in any media, including the World Wide Web, participant’s name, picture, and likeness, without limitation, for promotional and advertising purposes without additional compensation. The winner may be required, in the sole discretion of Taste of St. Louis, to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release within ten (10) days of the issuance of such documents or the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. 5. Liability.
By participating in this Contest, you accept all risk and consequences of entry and participation in this Contest, and agree to release and hold Taste of St. Louis, its officers, directors, affiliates, employees, contractors, subsidiaries, agents and partners, and Facebook and its officers, directors, affiliates, employees, contractors, subsidiaries, agents and partners harmless from any and all consequences, liability, losses, damages (including without limitation, consequential, punitive, incidental, special or increased damages and those related to personal injury, death or damage to property) and costs and expenses, of any kind, under any legal theory, arising from or related to this Contest, including but limited to your entry and participation in this Contest, the acceptance and/or use (or misuse) of any prize, printing errors, any claims based upon rights of publicity and invasion of privacy. The entrant shall indemnify Taste of St. Louis, its officers, directors, affiliates, contractors, subsidiaries, agents, employees and partners, and Facebook and its officers, directors, affiliates, contractors, subsidiaries, agents, employees and partners from and against all claims or suits and any damages or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or relating to the entrant’s violation or inaccuracy of any warrantees or representations made relating to this Contest. Taste of St. Louis assumes no responsibility for errors which may occur in the transmission of the entrant’s entry. Taste of St. Louis is not responsible for any fraud or misconduct on the part of the entrants. Should an entrant engage in fraud or misconduct of any nature, including but not limited to a violation of the Official Rules, such entrant shall be subject to immediate disqualification. The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the entrant to automatically enter or evaluate repeatedly is prohibited. 6. Law.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of Missouri, United States of America, without regard to any choice of law principles. The entrant hereby agrees and irrevocably consents to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the State of Missouri and of the United States of America located in the State of Missouri, USA, for any and all claims arising from or related to this Agreement. The entrant agrees that all claims relating to this Contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

7. Entire Agreement.
These terms set forth the entire agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter hereof, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings relating thereto, whether oral or written. This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, Facebook. The entrant is providing information to Taste of St. Louis and not to Facebook.
